Comedy and Tragedy were performed during the French Neoclassical Theatre.
THEY WERE NEVER MIXED TOGETHER!
Also performed Masques and Revels
Clothing was luxurious
Entries were also very popular (Entries were like small ballets)
Pageants were also performed
There were five procedures/rules that were to be followed in each production:
1. ) Decorum - Everything is fair; every actor has good AND bad traits
2. ) Purpose of Drama - Does it please the audience? Does it teach the audience?
3. ) Purity of the Dramatic Form - Is it sticking to the genre of performance? (Comedy, Tragedy, etc.)
4. ) Verisimilitude - Play must appear believable
5. ) Five Act Form - Performance within Five Acts
